Cobook – a Boost for Apple’s Contacts App

By -

Cobook is a neat little app that aims to further build on the features of the existing contacts management app from Apple. It can pull information from Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter and it can link contact cards with a variety of information such as a friend’s job title from LinkedIn and his current location from Facebook. It can also add a Twitter feed too without damaging your contact files.

This app requires no setup. It uses the accounts that you have already set up in iOS settings such as iCloud, Google and Exchange. You can simply pick a person and their contact card will pop up. Underneath this, you will find buttons for their Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, which provides additional information such as telephone numbers, job titles, email addresses and more. If you want to read a contact’s latest tweets, simply click the Twitter button. If you want to see what they are up to, click on their Facebook icon. It’s as simple as that.

All the data displays neatly in line, which is great as it keeps things simplified and modern. In addition to these features, you can also call people directly by using the nostalgic dialer. You can also share your own personalized contact card with your contacts to update their existing phonebook data. Talk about linked in!  For now, back to the cage.
