The Keep Calm and Carry On Story

I started seeing Keep Calm and Carry On t-shirts in the late 2000s. I remember liking the logo design and especially the sentiment, but assumed at the time with the crown emblem, that it was maybe a slogan for a trendy British fashion house or perhaps a chain of spas or resorts. The actual origin of this clean but eye-catching logo is much more interesting.

If you don’t know the whole story, check out this excellent documentary short that covers the birth of this iconic logo. Worth watching just to learn about the awesome UK Bookstore – Barter Books. What an incredible space! I would love to get lost in there for an afternoon or two. Good stuff. For now, back to the cage.
