So you launched your website. Now the real work begins.

For most businesses, a great deal of blood, sweat and tears go into creating and launching a company website. Countless hours are spent working with your web designer to fine tune the imagery, graphics, navigation and content. And when all of this work is finally completed and your website is launched, it’s time to kick-back and relax, right? WRONG!  This is a common mistake a lot of business owners make. Although it may already feel like so much time and resources were invested to get the website live, this is only the first step in an ongoing process to get the most out of your web presence.

Here is an excellent analogy to help illustrate this point. Let’s say you open a new retail outlet. Even if you have the nicest looking store on the block – with a beautiful interior and smartly displayed products – if the location isn’t prime, your signage is small and you did nothing to get the word out about your business, you should probably have a pretty short lease because you likely won’t be very successful!

The same thing goes for your company website. Simply building a great looking site with user friendly navigation is a good start, but now the real works begins to get the site noticed. Having a website that nobody can find on the web will obviously not benefit your business. Just like you need to market your storefront, you also need to market your website!  Using internet marketing to increase traffic to your site will ultimately help move you up the search engine rankings to ensure you are front and center when people search online for terms related to your business.

Here’s a short list of tasks to help you get your website on the map:

1. Keyword/search term analysis

2. SEO coding

3. SEO copywriting

4. SEM Google/Facebook PPC Campaigns

5. E-blasts to your customers announcing the launch of your new website with links to the site

6. Direct Mail to customers promoting your website

7. Unaddressed admail to your target audience

8. Online contests

9. Ads in trade publications

10. Use QR Codes on ads to help potential customers access your website via mobile devices

These are just a selection of tried and true web marketing tactics to get you on the right track when trying to promote your website. To learn more, contact the web design and development professionals at ZOO Media Group today!
