London based Checkers Cleaning Supply started in 1984 as a one man operation. Since then, it has grown exponentially to become an industry leader. When it came time to take their web presence and e-commerce operation to the next level, they wanted an experienced and talented web development team to lead the charge.
Over the past two years, we have worked closely with Checkers to strategize and execute a winning marketing plan. Our ZOO Media Group team totally rebuilt and recharged their 10 year old website, improved their SEO and created a mobile-friendly e-commerce web presence using the latest technology. It is always a pleasure to team up and work closely with a company to plan and execute an extensive branding and marketing strategy. Our focus was to strengthen the Checkers brand. Projects included bold graphic designs for their marketing materials, copywriting, a company blog, monthly e-blasts, search engine marketing and of course, their new e-commerce site and web app.
The campaign also included a new look for stationery, catalogues, advertisements and even their vehicle wraps. This total transformation included a modern and sleek new design for all Checkers delivery vehicles – like moving billboards to increase their brand presence.

Checkers wanted to provide an easy and user-friendly experience for their cleaning supply customers. We worked with them to develop a website that includes a quick and intuitive shopping experience, inventory and delivery estimates, product information & safety resources, support and an online account to manage all orders.
Companies can now use the web app to access their online account, allowing them to easily track and account for their cleaning supplies. All of their information will be in one place and kept current with real-time updates.
Feedback from customers so far has been overwhelmingly positive. From the eye-catching ads and marketing materials to the new website – web traffic has increased and social interactions have multiplied with the newly enhanced online content.
Nuts and Bolts of the Project
To add value to Checkers’ clients online experience, we also built a reports feature. This allows customers to view and export information about their purchases, which can be used for presentations, sales reports and for their records. When accessing their account, they will be able to retrieve historical data to quickly see when a product was last ordered and the quantity. If orders are on back order, the current status and the estimated delivery time will be displayed.
We also created a “favourites” list which shows frequently ordered products. This allows users to quickly and easily re-order their usual products. In addition to this list, Checkers’ website makes it simple to find exactly the right product by using the search and filter options. The product detail pages provide a description to ensure it’s the right solution for the cleaning need.
We also developed a mobile app for Checkers, which allows customers to easily order the products they need right from their phone! This web app will be of particular interest to the employees that order supplies as it brings the convenience of placing an order right to the palm of their hand.
